Dihydroxy bile acids, alcohols and derivatives are compounds containing or derived from a bile acid or alcohol, and which bears exactly two carboxylic acid groups. 7-Sulfocholic acid is a very hydrophobic molecule, practically insoluble (in water), and relatively neutral.
